Accessibility and affordability are critical when it comes to professional learning opportunities. Through the SCAC’s partnership with Kadenze, artists across the Palmetto State will be able to benefit from a wide variety of innovative and creative online courses at no cost. This opportunity has been jointly developed by the online learning platform kadenze.com and the South Carolina Arts Commission (SCAC). Kadenze, Inc. partners with leading universities and institutions across the globe to provide world-class online education in the fields of art and creative technology.

Some of the best online courses in creative arts disciplines from leading universities are now available free of charge for artists living in South Carolina. This opportunity is made available through the SCAC, which seeks to provide opportunities for artists to participate in a learning continuum ranging from pre-professional to advanced career training.

Kadenze has made this ambitious plan possible by opening up a selection of courses as an Open Educational Resource (OER). This involves opening access to the digital learning resources produced with a consortium of university partners and making these available for South Carolinian creatives - artists, art and design teachers, students and administrators.
